Consultation Notes

Consultation notes
Before starting the process, you should consult your client about their hair and skin type and any known skin or medical conditions. You should look at their skin type whether that being oily, sensitive, they have visible blemishes or skin irritations. By doing this, you know whether you have to change any items in your kit or the method in which you apply the products. When you feel that you are happy to carry on and the client is happy you can begin to prep the person and inform them of what you will be doing. Completing the consultation insures that the client is always happy and there is less chance of any problems.

Before starting
You should gown your client to ensure no product falls on them and inform them that you are going to wash your hands, this way the client is aware of hygiene. You should then clip back any sections of their hair with hair clips. Place down couch roll onto the surface where your products will be. You will always be working in different conditions and situations, therefore placing down paper will ensure that the products do not touch anything which could affect it and be unhygienic. If you are working with a mirror in front of you then make sure your client is positioned directly in the middle. Before starting ask two important questions, are you allergic to anything and do you wear contact lenses?
